About the Learning Program

Because fall ill should never mean falling behind.

The Ronald McDonald Learning Program is a national program assisting school aged children with illness and injury to catch up on their learning. We believe that every child has the right to achieve to their fullest potential. The Ronald McDonald Learning Program provides a suite of support which can include comprehensive assessment, therapy, and tuition with qualified professionals.

The Charlie Bell Scholarship- Helping Young People Reach Their Goals

A serious illness or injury can put life on hold, making progress in education seem impossible. That’s where the Charlie Bell Scholarship program comes in. We provide one-off grants of up to $5,000 to deserving young people, helping them get back on track with their learning. Whether the funds are used for university fees, apprenticeship tools, books, or supplies, RMHC is here to support their success.

About Charlie Bell

The late Charlie Bell, the first Australian Global CEO of McDonald’s, left a legacy after his battle with cancer. This legacy allows young people who have experienced illness or injury to get their lives back on track and follow their dreams. RMHC North Australia is honoured to offer scholarships in his memory.

Become a RMLP Tutor

The RMLP gives teachers a chance to help ill and injured children and their siblings catch up. Teachers are paid on an hourly basis to tutor students recovering from illness at the student’s school, a hospital, a local community facility, or online. Each student receives up to 40 weeks of tutoring, usually completed for an hour each week over four school terms.
